HB Open CW Activity - HB-OCWA
In 2020, the HTC celebrated its 40th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the club planned to promote radio activities on the shortwave bands in telegraphy. The Scandinavian organization SOCWA, which pursues the same goals of tackling radio connections with a little more content, allowed us to adapt its electronic web logbook for our event and needs. (Ham-Spirit)!
Further information in German and English can be found on the HB-OCWA website .
Throughout the entire anniversary year of 2020 and the following years, radio activities took place on all amateur bands. This activity was under the name HB-OCWA (HB Open CW Activity). A dedicated HB-OCWA website provided information about the terms of participation. All CW enthusiasts worldwide were warmly invited to this event, whether they were HTC members or not. Successful participants automatically received a diploma after reaching a certain number of QSOs. Further diplomas could be achieved by increasing the number of QSOs. For each diploma achieved, participants also received a lottery ticket to enter the "Lottery". Regardless of Morse speed, every participant had the chance to win a prize. The attractive prizes were listed on the HB-OCWA website under "Lottery". See the appendix or the HB-OCWA website for the regulations. To inform the QSO partner on the frequency where they should make an online log entry, a simplified URL "HBCW.ch" has been set up.
