The HTC
The Helvetia Telegraphy Club (HTC) sees itself as a community for safeguarding the special interests of telegraphy. The club's goal is pursued by operating a club station (call signs HB9HTC and HB9HC), through Morse practice transmissions, courses for learning Morse telegraphy, awarding a diploma upon passing a Morse telegraphy exam, participation in CW contests, and through practical assistance among members.
Within the telegraphy operating mode, we also promote the self-construction of devices and antennas. We understand this to mean any kind of small self-build project. Through the exchange of experience and events, as well as mutual help among members, we want to awaken and support interest in the self-construction of devices - as a privilege of the radio amateur. The Q-code "QRP" was used to try to designate such small self-build projects more concisely. The HTC thereby represents the interests of a QRP club in Switzerland. "QRP parties" took place for many years. Today we call these events "workshops".
The NMD Commission USKA/HTC organizes the NMD (National Mountain Day Contest) on behalf of the USKA.
The HTC is a section of the USKA (Union of Swiss Shortwave Amateurs) and a member of the EUCW (European CW Association).
On September 15, 1980, 14 members founded the Telegraphy Club.
Today, the HTC consists of 170 active members spread throughout Switzerland. In addition, we are supported by some members who live in another country. HB9AIY Karl, HB9BTS Herby, HB9UH Hans, HB9IRF Gerald, and HB9AFH Hugo were the former presidents.
